WELCOME!!

Hello all!

Welcome to my blog! This is a safe space for anyone to come to when looking for motivation to do all kinds of tasks. Depression, anxiety, ADHD and other mental illnesses can make some of the “simplest” of tasks some of the hardest, and it can be especially hard to get into the routine of not practicing habits or having a routine at all. I hate calling any task a “simple” one, because some days we wake up, and even brushing our teeth sounds like running a marathon.

The name of this blog is “Mindful Living”, because practicing reflections of our well-being through “mindfulness” is a practice that many people use to be aware of their feelings, environment, and situation they may be in. According to mayoclinic.org, mindfulness is defined as “a type of meditation in which you focus on being intensely aware of what you’re sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgement”, (mayoclinic.org).  By practicing mindfulness throughout this blog, I hope it will allow my readers to understand their overwhelming feelings about accomplishing some tasks, why they may be so difficult, and if it is within their realm of capabilities that day.

Every week, we will be building habits together. From practicing good hygiene, cleaning our living spaces, to accomplishing goals we would like to set for ourselves. Lots of times, people who struggle with these things (including myself) constantly beat themselves up about being “lazy”. But what we don’t stop and think about is that some days, getting out of bed is physically and mentally impossible. In this blog, using any words or terms to put yourself down is not aloud. Society had conditioned us to feel like the only way to be successful is to have a productive day every day, and that is simply not true.

Any task is an accomplishment.

Days of doing nothing, is also an accomplishment.

I cannot wait to start building a routine and habits with my readers. Till then,

Taylor Rose.

  1. I look forward to reading your blog as I have already dedicated a significant amount of time in 2021 praying over and formulating a routine for my days that has meaning and purpose. I look forward to what you have to share!

Mindful Living Week 1 ( Thursday)

The First Step is Always the Hardest- Day 4 Happy Thursday!! The week is almost over, that means we are almost done working on our living spaces. Yesterday I hope you all took the time to relax, and do some self care. It is so important to allow ourselves to have that time.  However, today we are nearing the final stretch of this series which means the next two days will be work filled. But do not worry!! We are so close to beginning our habit building.  Today’s Tasks Today we are focusing on areas in our living spaces that we have not yet done. With the hope that you have started the organization of your other spaces, today we will be focusing on the kitchen. These tasks can be big, but I believe you can get it done.  Clear off the counters of any clutter that may have built up over time. Organize it and dispose of any trash properly. Go through your whole living space and gather any dishes that may be laying around, and put them with all of the other dirty dishes...
